PV scheme at Newbiggin Hall Estate

solar panels

Photovoltaic (PV) arrays have been set on the roof of a three-storey block of 25 flats in Newbiggin Hall Estate.

This scheme produces renewable electricity, which avoids grid electricity and reduces the electricity cost for residents. Local contractors and personnel were employed for the roof modification work.

The project is unique in the city, and acts a powerful demonstration and inspiration to others of sustainable practice.
