How does climate change happen?
Climate and change are two words that strike fear in the heart of some, are simply ignored or are disputed by others.
But an increasing number of people are beginning to realise that climate change is a real problem. British Prime Minister Tony Blair has called it 'the most important issue ever to face humanity'.
Most people realise that climate change has something to do with the weather and TV news programmes and newspapers seem to feature the latest freak events every day.
Climate is not the weather, but it is related to it. Climate is a description of the average weather conditions of a particular place, measured over long periods of time.
While some still argue over climate change and its existence, few dispute the basic science.
